It’s that time of year again!   Let's try to forget it is still around 90 degrees outside and think of the cold months ahead! 

We have begun our 5^th Annual “Operation Merry Christmas Marines and Sailors". Last year we shipped 9.5 tons-4000 Christmas stockings. This year our goal is 5000! All must be shipped by the 3^rd week of November at the latest- the boxes will arrive at the base camps in approx 7-10 days- but, then may take an additional 2-3 weeks to get to the Marines and Corpsman in the most remote outposts.  

The urgency to raise the needed funds along with requests of possible product donations is high. Time seems to pass by all too quickly. We must contact manufactures ASAP and give them heads up on the stock we are requesting at least 30 days in advance.  When requesting such a high volume of their products, such orders cannot be filled in just a 2 week time period.

 

We send products needed and those to lift morale year round, however  Christmas and Hanukah which are usually spent with family and friends- sharing family traditions –can make being deployed a little bit more difficult and homesick.  So we send those traditions to them! We show them we have not forgotten them! The logistics are huge when planning to assemble 5000 identical stockings filled with tactical gear and some holiday favorites. The economy is poor, many are unemployed and going through difficult times. We would be most grateful for a donation to assist in this mission no matter how small.
